I attended the 200th Anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth in his Kentucky hometown of Hodgenville this morning. The Mint was making available to the public a limited number ($5 maximum) of cents. I saw Nelrak's post; I guess you could go through the line multiple times, but I got my 10 rolls and got out of there! Here are some photos. (Note: the roll I opened had mostly pieces with spots, which seems to unfortunately be a chronic problem with new Lincolns).

I like the fact that "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and "1809" on the back are incuse. Really sweet reverse!

Congrats! Try rinsing the coin with some water to remove the spots.

Gotta admit--the reverse looks better struck than as a drawing.
What a cool keepsake from Lincoln's bicentennial event!

Don't know if anyone saw the front page of the most recent Coin World; it indicates there that it could be some time before they are released because the Fed banks and commerce in general currently have a glut of cents. No room for the new ones!

I wonder if the Mint will offer "two roll Sets" of them ?
Of course, I'd rather get them for face value from my Bank than do that !!

It looks to have an entirely new obverse die design as well. Am I wrong?
