Hey fellas so I just trying to figure out some information. So having the mint mark ie the D or the p mint mark on the 2000 Sacagawea coin, does that make the coin worth more. I've been looking for information to find this out but having them on these one dollar coins make them worth more?, or not am I completely wrong? I'm trying to figure out how people are coming up with their prices for their raw coins on ebay.
I want a piece of the pie too but I need to get abbetter understanding first. Any and all info is greatly appreciated

@new, can you please clarify if you are actually talking about a "Sacagawea" dollar coin? Thx.

Actually every single minted Sacagawea dollar either has a P or a D mintmark. The S mints are proofs for collectors. The only time these Sacs are usually worth much is if they are in high grade mint state, or if you happen to have one of the scarce errors/varieties.

Be forewarned though, there are unfortunately too many people selling coins on ebay and elsewhere that have no idea what they are doing, and can end up trying to sell an average circulated Sac dollar (and a myriad of other coins) for huge dollars. Asking us here is one of the best ways to learn stuff like this. Checking ebay sold prices for Sac dollars could be a very good way to get a good feel of the current market.

Many clueless people who seldom see these coins come across one somewhere, and not having seen it before think it must be very rare and valuable and list it on ebay or Etsy at ridiculous prices. Almost none of them are worth more than face value.

Just did a quick ebay search and of the first 50 results for 2000 dollar coin, only 6 were accurately priced. Clueless non-Collecters were asking ridiculous amounts for circulated examples, from $25 to $2000. Unless it's one of the rare Cheerios dollars ( none of these were) a circulated 2000 example is worth just face value.
