So I just got my first 2022 quarter in my change. Definitely different from previous years. I don't know about you but Washingtons new due will take so getting used to. I don't care for Washingtons hair much the way they crammed the letters into his scull. I may have my issues with the obverse but I actually like the design they choose for the reverse. The letters are fancy and kinda pop out at you. Any other opinions would be welcomed.

I really like the series. The obverse is a nice, albeit, overdue change; and nice to see the mint finally using the Laura Gardin Fraser design as was originally intended in 1932. The reverse designs , in hand, are quite nice, especially the Maya Angelou.

Sure it was overdue to change. I just have to get used to the new image of Washington. Then they will change it again haha. That's life. Definitely in agreement about the reverse.

To me, it's an unfortunate design. Washington's hair needs some coiffing and the reverse is overly-busy. Too much stuff going on there. This too shall pass.

They should've brought back Miss Liberty. Ugly or not, I like her more than any president's face. She represents the core beliefs and classical foundation of this country. The people featured now are just appreciated.

At least I'm not the only one who doesn't care for the hair. As for Mrs liberty I don't think she was ugly at all. Her virtue is her beauty and I would welcome her return. I still like the style font they used for the reverse even though it may be a bit busy it still comes together quite nicely.

S mint business strikes are the lowest mintage in a century. Not grading well. MS68 only about 100, are selling for $600+ MS 67 for about $100

I've never purchased or sold any coins but it's interesting to know. But what coins are you referring to? This 2022 quarter or maybe the liberty? That would make more sense to me.

He is referring to the 2022 quarters from the San Francisco mint. But it is very unlikely that you will find them in your change. They can only be obtained by getting the uncirculated clad or proof clad or silver set directly from the Mint or purchasing the three roll PDS rolls from the mint. The first two coins Maya Angelou and Sally Ride sold out very quickly. But it is primarily the limited quantity of S mint coins that is causing the frenzy.

I like the series, will live with the designs. Not a real choice.

So there are definitely some mixed emotions about the new series.

I like both! The reverse especially is a very pleasing composition, from Angelou's pose to the rays and bird silhouette, very nice to gaze upon. The obverse is nice too, even if I think the hair looks odd around the ear. That alone however isn't enough to kill the whole design, it's well crafted and great to see Mrs. Fraser's work finally receive some recognition.

Quote: I do not care for the obverse or reverse of the 2022 quarters, IMHO. The obverse is ok, the reverses are stupid. Enough already with these silly commemorative programs.
