The New U.S. Penny Is Here - Sort Of...
The new Lincoln Cent was launched last Thursday, but you can't find them in circulation yet. The Fed tells me it will be at least 30 to 45 days, and banks won't be getting whole boxes of them as a rule. The 2009 pennies will be mixed in with older pennies. There is a coin dealer who is giving away 1,000,000 pennies (including new ones) as part of promotion, though. Maybe you can get some of his?
