Worn dies and excessive die spacing, but I love this year/mint:

Very tired dies! There seems to be a touch of wear but it's hard to tell with these Denver strikes.

I like these to be honest, look really cool. I'll give it a AU55. These tired dies make me think the copper was melted :)

It's an early Denver issue, I believe excessive die spacing was the rule. The details are fairly sharp on the obverse, but not enough pressure was applied to fully raise the design at the highest points. I'm still trying to figure out the field strech marks, they don't look like die polish lines (too thick), I'm thinking they were struck-though grease....looking for input here.

I agreed with the dealer that sold this to me that it's MS-62/63. I already have a killer 15D, I just bought this one because of it's unique character and as an example of an early Denver issue.

That's why I love these early Lincolns Thad. I'm a big fan of the chocolate toned ones.

Just curious Thad. How do you store your "extras". I like the Intercept Shields.

With my main collection, at least keepers like this: Acetone rinse, Airtite, 2x2, 3-ring binder, then the whole binder goes into a ziplock bag with a dessicant pack and then to the bank safe deposit box.
