I finally filled this slot in my collection. Won it at auction last week. Gordian I (A.D. 238) AE Sestertius, A.D. 238, Rome, 29mm, 16.32g, ~160°, RIC IV 11; BMCRE 12-13; Rare. Ex. Conti collection. Obv: IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AFR AVG. laureate, draped & cuirassed bust right. Rev: SECVRITAS AVGG. Securitas seated left, holding scepter in right hand. S C in ex.  |

Thanks guys. I was bidding on a Gordian II also and wanted to get them both but the prices went just a bit rich for me so I let that one slip. I'll get a Gordian II soon one day.

Congratulations! That is an extremely difficult emperor to attain (within a modest budget). Both Gordian I & II will likely be holes in my collection. However, I've found some reproductions that are very high quality. Haven't pulled the trigger on buying them though.
