Here are two coins I purchased awhile back. The cent has been graded by PCGS and the $2.50 quarter eagle by ANACS. Happy grading. I hope my pictures are sufficient. David Image: lincoln015.jpg85.98 KB Image: lincoln020.jpg83.33 KB Image: lincoln019.jpg92.29 KB Image: lincoln024.jpg84.48 KB

The 09S is clean, very nice coin! The pics are a little dark and small, but ...there looks to be a little wear. On the obverse the jaw looks to be rubbed flat or is that an optical illusion? Looking at the lettering sharpness, it seems to be an LDS coin. Sometimes the TPG's can penalize you when they don't pay attention to the die state....I've seen it before on issues that are normally well struck. The obverse apparent wear is slightly inconsistent (wear)with the reverse, with is around AU. There looks to be a little strike weakness evident in the E.PLUR, but it's there's a shawdow over that area making it hard to judge. The wheat grains and lines exhibt some wear and strike weakness. Whew...all that from dark, small pictures. LOL Min: EF40 Max: AU55

AU50 on the Lincoln and AU55 on the Quarter Eagle. The fields on the gold piece are very nice - I've seen similiar coins at MS64 but the eagles neck and right talon have to go as wear to me.

Thanks for all the responses. I meant to post yesterday, but I got held over at work, sorry for the delay. The 1909-S Lincoln was graded by PCGS AU55, the coin has some light rub on the jaw. The E PLUR. is well struck, just bad pictures. The 1853 $2.50 was graded AU53 by ANACS. Its a nice coin with great luster just some spots of light wear. Thanks again to everyone who responded

Thanks david29. Your '09-S Lincoln is a good example of a coin that wasn't struck with full details. I see a lot of early Lincolns (especially S & D mints) that are graded VF or EF because of wear when actually there is very little wear, just a coin that never had full details.
