I thought this coin might be damage also, until I found one just like it. It's got the same marks front and back, so what are the chances there are 2 of these with the same markings?

Best bet is to post pictures of your coin for proper identification, it may be something different. If it is just like this one then it is damaged as well. Just because there are two damaged coins alike, doesn't mean anything except that they were damaged in the same way.
