Its pretty beat up and might be worth face but could anyone give me a grade range and a possible price? I found it a couple months ago in my wallet, almost used it when paying at a gas station but held on to it after I glanced at the serial number.
Cool circulation find. Guessing values on fancy serial numbers is a crapshoot. I told a member his note was worth $10 the other day and he sold it on eBay for $100. There's no telling what someone might bid.
A great find What you have is a 7 of a kind which is similar to 7-in-a-row (07777777) except that the lone digit is somewhere in the middle of the number instead.
7 of a kind General Value: $50 - $150. 7 in a row: $80-200 added to the face value. I agree with Steve that pricing has to be a guideline as even values in price guides can vary widely from actual sold pricing at times based on supply/demand, condition, bidiots, how its sold (auction vs buy it now) etc so the best advice is to check actual sold listings (rather than listed prices) for clues to more accurate current values, or auction sites sales if a higher end/graded type note. The notes which are pulled out from circulation and have some wear will not give you as much value as a mint condition note as well. That's why we have condition standards for currency and grading companies like PMG, PCGS and this goes as well for coins. A top end graded example can bring far greater value than a 'typical' condition find but is a great keeper.
