Greetings, stumbled upon this 89 D cent when something caught by bare eye about it.
Upon further inspection, this looks to me to be a double die. It has notches and the devices are enlarged, as well as the inner features effected (the B in liberty for example)

Can anyone else confirm by the looks of things? Also the D mint mark looks like a strong double as well?

I don't see doubling but the mint mark does look interesting. Better closeup photos would help determine what is going on there.

Maybe these will help. I know the pictures aren't the best quality, but Is there not quite noticeable notching and doubling in letters of liberty? As well as moto letters albeit less pronounced, and the date as well. The D mint mark definitely looks like 2 separate Ds.

Can't see any doubling. Most 89s DD are slight. MM might be repunched, but also has zinc rot. http://www.coppercoins.com/advsearch.php

The mintmark is splitting open due to spilt plating. The grey colour is zinc showing , allowing for zinc rot to set in. Spend it while you can.

It may have been a RPM, but the damage pretty much erases the value of the RPM.

It looks like an RPM to me but it's hard to tell without clearer pictures. I didn't see anything that matched it on Variety Vista or CopperCoins.com. If it is an RPM it looks like a pretty nice one and something worth getting attributed.

I agree with CRHunting that this may be a new RPM. Better focused images will help. It may be worth submitting to the attribution sites (even if there is split plating present) so do not "spend it while you can" as others suggest.

The damage to the coin pretty much rules out a listing for it will all the damage on the mintmark area.
