Hi,

I have a 2017 Frederick Douglass quarter that has a die chip/cud? instead of the designer initials on the obverse of the quarter. Would this be considered a mint error and worth keeping?

Thanks

Cuds affect the outer edge of a die, same for a rim Cud. Die cracks/chips/breaks happen on the center areas of the dies. A Cud is a die ending experience.

This is an area that you will find a lot of die cracks on the Washington quarters.
