1969 D, Mint Is High Or Low On Date.

Hi,I found two different 1969d penny's, and one has the d mint high and the other is low under date. Is this normal, or can someone tell me what's the difference. Please Thank you.

Normal. Back then mint marks were placed by hand. They are known to be in slightly different positions year-to-year....until 1989 or 1990.

Mint marks were placed by hand on each working die till 1990 which is the first year the MM was added to the master die. So pre 1990 cents do have varying MM positions but as long as it is below the date it is with in mint tolerance.
