Found this in pocket change some time ago, I know I've seen a "copper dime" with similar appearance slabbed carrying rather high premium, could I be so lucky (nah, probably not)?

Your coin is not missing any clad layers. Staining of some kind.

I agree with Dearborn and John1. I took your coin and put it next to a dime missing the obverse clad layer so you can better see the difference in coloring which may help you (and others) in the future when looking. Yes it can be partially missing as in this link as well
