I have collected guns for years and since getting into collecting coins and bullion I have found a great source at gun shows. Seems collecting guns and coins go hand in hand. Found silver eagles, silver rounds, silver bars, and half dollars. Even have traded guns for 10 oz bars. Going to a small show this weekend and have 2 shotguns I hope to trade for silver.

Whether buying at a coin show or gun show, you must be able to determine authenticity. A occasional fake round is annoying but a fake 10 oz bar would be painful. And in the future should you ever want to sell a large bar, the potential buyer would want proof of purity.

Every time I have seen silver at a gun show the asking prices were ridiculous.

I've purchased several coins at gun shows. Yes, the two do seem to go hand in hand. The coins that I've purchased were genuine and the prices were within reason. That said, just know what your're purchasing like anywhere else.

For example, here is one of my purchases (obviously not Silver). As I recall he was a local seller, very knowledgeable, and I was able to procure the coin for $100 (it was the last day of the show so I talked him down a bit). I know that you can't see the coin very well but, it had a full "Liberty" and strong headdress. I feel that it was more than a G-6.
