I have some dime and quarter coins that I keep in a 2x2 holder. I wrote the information about the coin (date and mint) with a black gel pen, but the pen on the holder is smeared.I remembered that you can print information on paper and then glue it on the holder, but I do not know the size or font that best fits. Please help me , does anyone have a template for holders?

I just write the information in ink, then place a clear piece of tape over it to keep it from smearing.

I just use an ultra fine tip sharpie. It's cheaper than printer ink and far quicker.

I haven't found a marker that doesn't smudge, but here's a good idea about duct tape. I also thought of duct tape at first.

I've never had any issues with sharpie smearing (permanent ink). If it does smear for you then it may be more an issue with the flips you are using. May happen if they have a gloss to the surfaces

I tend to use a fine ball point pen for writing on 2x2's, and just wait a minute or two before handling and have never had any issues with smearing.

I just use a regular pen, instead of gel filled.

I don't know what the problem is. In markers or holder 2x2. I use 2x2 by leuchtturm. They are considered quite high-quality. My markers indicate that they are for CD/DVD.

Quote: May happen if they have a gloss to the surfaces Way back I bought a batch of 2x2s that had a glossy finish. I hated them. Everything smeared. They ruined pages when the ink transferred from the holder. Never again! I have never had a problem with the standard paper holder and a fine tip Sharpie®.

They are called "2x2s" because they are 2 inches by 2 inches. If you are using a computer to make a printed overlay for a 2x2, just make a custom page of "labels" that are 2 inches across (that's 5.2 cm for us non-Americans), and as high as will fit into the gap.
Then you can arrange the text on the label in whatever font size and style you like best.
Re: ink smearing: I will normally write the details on one side of the 2x2, then blow on it. I've found holding the 2x2 in the fingers of one hand on opposite corners, then blowing on it to make the 2x2 spin around like a little fan, works wonders for drying the ink.

I just used duct tape. It turned out pretty good overall. I almost don't know how to use a word and it's difficult for me to make all sorts of tables. I'm still not sure if 2x2 is good for storing coins. I have seen many videos where people open 2x2 years later and see that the coin from the UNC has turned into XF+, that spots or traces of film have appeared on the coin, that the coin has become sticky, etc.

I had same issue. I bought a cheap Brothers label maker.
