I listed a a 1917 DDO I found in the modern grading section. I'm thinking of selling it. It was one amazing find. But reality is that's alot of cash. So. Was wondering thought on selling it as ( not getting it certified) and how much that will effect the price. And what the better option is as far as auction or buy now.. I have sold quite a few lesser value coins on ebay. But I'm hesitant to just list this randomly given the value. Sorry in advance if there I'd a better forum to ask this.. thought this seemed like the best spot

Throw it on ebay with a BIN price or best offer and see. You should put it up on our forum as well.

It's a great coin, but I wouldn't go the auction route on ebay. It's a specialist coin without a large pool of buyers willing to pay the price, and the right people might not be watching ebay that week. So you could try BIN for awhile on ebay, or you might do better getting it graded and attributed, then selling at GC or HA. Just my opinion.

You'd need photos of the quality of your last two images, and similar quality photos of the entire obverse and reverse.

Similar to thoughts I'm having... and opinion on grade went from 30-40. That range gives Mr about $1000 in price diff. Kinda why I was leaning more towards auction possibly.? Or bin with a best offer?

I would try to sell it on CCF first. Your are more likely get the best price with it being raw, especially when you can reference this discussion and your grading topic. Your only cost is time. If you sell on ebay. I believe you will need to have it certified to get its full value. Selling raw on ebay might keep the best offer on the low end. I have never bought a raw coin on ebay and doubt I ever will. I know the slab is not a 100% guarantee, but it removes some of the risk to the buyer.

Check ebay sold values to get an idea on what others have gone for. John1
