Beautiful coins. Which do you feel are in question grade-wise?

Well I feel the SP65 1 Cent was generous given the blotches. The 5 Cent 64 is ok given the unfortunate rust spots. The 10 cent is a weak strike but is very clean, thought that could have been a 65. The 50 cent bothers me, it is very clean, any streaks are just toning, nice fields and details - to me a pretty near perfect coin but what do I know.

@purelywasted Thanks, yeah is pretty amazing. I'm thinking 65-66 in my opinion, I can't find anything that jumps out at me that would drop it to a SP64.

Does and should toning affect grades at all...just curious.

Amazing!
1952 specimens are certainly hard to come by. Where did you get them? Did you buy it as a complete set?
I'm surprised the dollar got SP66 with the two imperfections on the cheek and below the ear. It looks like the SWL variety?

Gorgeous coins, you got very lucky on the quarter.. They tend not to grade these above 64 /65. The half looks like it could be conservatively graded, but always hard to say without seeing these things in hand. The dime is always tough too, They just have such a weird looking hand due to a bad set of dies.. hard to get anything above 64 on these.

@johnnysprawl Got lucky, bought it from someone is the US. I guess we both thought it was a very nice regular mint set. Yeah it's SWL variety. Imperfections in what way? You mean streaks ?

Looks like there is a chip/dent on the dollar on the kings face and below the ear.

@johnnysprawl I believe that a lack of toning. Same as the cheek.

I guess I'll never understand SP grading. I know they're harder on them, but what makes the dollar SP66 and the 50c only SP64? It's like they just throw a dart at the grading board.

Maybe hairlines or something hidden under the (very) attractive patina? It can be hard to see those on a reflective coin in hand under a good light, Its not hard to make them completely invisible on a photo.
Its also not uncomon to see quite a lot of grade variation within a single set.

Be rational folks, none of us have these Coins in hand and pictures do not tell the entire story.
Clearly you were lucky on some grades, and feel unlucky on others.
