Sap Moderator Australia 15419 Posts	Posted 05/29/2023 6:13 pm We've seen them many times on the forum before - this 10 year old thread points to three other older threads. So don't be embarrassed, they've been causing confusion for a couple of decades now. I've never seen any explanation as to what they actually are, or who, why or when they were made. In the old thread I linked to above, the Israeli mint denies it's one of their products. I can only assume they were privately made in Israel some time in the 1960-1983 period, back when normal 1 agora coins resembled this. The only theory I have is they were made by someone wishing to celebrate/commemorate the peace treaty with Egypt in 1979 - "shalom" meaning both "peace" and "hello" in Hebrew. Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis Report this Post to the Staff

I can explain that: I have so been busy working on so many others, this piece has was just set aside.
