I am not sure what everyone's opinion on this is but I'm wondering if this is an error at the mint or if it's "human made" error. Thoughts?

Not an error—heavily damaged. Scratched, gouged, shot at, etc.

It's been damaged after it left the U.S Mint. PSD.

Feels like it was just yesterday when I would use my Daisy BB rifle to shoot at pennies, wonder if this could have been one I shot so long ago.
PMD FOR CERTAIN

Could be from many different objects, even a nail punch. What ever it was it is just a damaged coin now.
