1852 Quebec Half Penny Token.small Date?

middenmess Valued Member United Kingdom 107 Posts	Posted 03/30/2009 1:11 pm The '52' of '1852 appears to be in a smaller font to the '18' There is an example of this coin on ebay-- [eBayItem]260366058437[/eBayItem]-the date is the same as mine but they are all in the same size font. chequer Pillar of the Community Canada 4227 Posts	Posted 03/30/2009 1:21 pm I don't have one in hand, but the date on the photo in my copy of The Charlton Standard Catalogue of Canadian Colonial Tokens looks to be the same. chequer Pillar of the Community Canada 4227 Posts	Posted 03/30/2009 1:40 pm I find them very close, but there may be a difference. It's difficult with the difference in grades though. That one on ebay is from a dealer where I live ... very nice token. I do see what you're talking about though and it may very well be a variety, as the book I mentioned stated that minor varieties do exist, but they didn't price any varieties.
