They are 27mm prior to 1828 and 24mm after 1828. I believe both sizes were made in 1828.
I have a 1825/4 in a nicely toned Fine. It is one of my favorite coins even though there isn't a place for it in my Dansco 7070. Something about that large diameter is really cool and unique.
They sure are. I read somewhere that while the Bust halves tended to be saved and/or ended up in bank vaults, the Bust quarters were mostly spent and so got heavy use. So to find one in decent condition without mortgaging your house is a tall order.
