Someone might have recently spent them. They could of been in a obw BU roll or in a jar.

Few coin dealers offer to buy rolls of cents like this and use the term "just take 'em to the bank" when dealing with customers trying to sell them for more than face value. So, "common" BU rolls of older Lincoln Memorial cents show up in bank deposits and Coinstar redemptions on occasion. They then end up being redistributed out into commerce by banks and armored car companies. That's how you ended up with 3 of these "new looking" older coins! If you like 'em keep 'em!

Probably stashed away in a jar somewhere. They just have not seen much circulation yet.

Someone broke open an original roll and put them in circulation.

Every year during National Coin Week (April) I put various older coinage into circulation. I've bought or had bu rolls of common date wheat backs that I've done so one year. Last year it was higher grade circulated Buffalo nickels. So that's a possibility, of someone paying it forward so to speak to intince new collectors.

My new bank I switched to literally just for there change, has the best change! It's wild.no shield cents ever it's 75% red wheaties or memorials, some have that obvious no contact marks appeal even and I only collect the red cents, unless it's a Wheat penny or 1982 D small date ( littler top loop on 8 and a 2 with "chest" as I view it, 1983, 1987 to weigh for change in usual weight. 1992 ( Close AM), 1998 ( Wide AM), 1999 ( Wide AM)

Lemur, have your explored their dimes, quarters and halves?
