I have been searching through my Bessie Coleman quarters and found what appears to be a die/cud error on the plane on the reverse of the coin. Is this a new error or has anyone found anything similar. Thanks in advance.

not a Cud - they only form from a broken die when a part of it beaks away and it always involves the edge and rim of a coin, never in the center.
What you have is a die chip.
