Just looks like a worn out nickel in some kind of bezel.

I see a damaged, well worn nickel in a bezel worth face value.

The metal is raised. It is a lump of metal in front of his mouth.

You know it doesn't belong there. So what is it?

Obviously you're not seeing what I am. This is not just a regular nickel. The thing in front is not just a scrape or scratch. I am no expert but it is definitely a lump of metal that does not belong there. I don't know how it got there. That is why I came here. Can you explain that to me.

to the CCF!

Images aren't sharp enough to tell for sure, but it looks as if someone has carved the metal of the coin (impact from the blade of a flat screwdriver on each side of the anomaly?) as I see displaced metal, or it could even be some solder that was applied before it was placed in a bezel and worn down to nothing.

If you can get sharp, in-focus images of BOTH sides of the coin, we may be able to tell more.
