I have read that these can have a satin finish. But looks strange to me, I see no luster. Or is it dipped or something? Not my coin but I'm thinking on buying. bad pics but its what I got. Glad for help   |

Pass, odd color could be hiding those streaks on the obverse. Solid strike on the head but the middle of the bison appears weakly struck. I believe satin refers to the 1936 proofs, which were satin or brilliant (and this is not a proof)

 these photos are just poor quality to risk it. the reverse photos makes the coin appear to be cleaned and all the original skin removed. not a good choice |

Got some more photos, looks to be in natural light. Colours on obverse seem to be uneven Is it still a hard pass?   Edited by Moniker

Well I bought it lets see if in hand pics looks ok when it arive.
does split tail carry a premium?

Still hard to tell the originality of the surfaces, especially on the reverse, but mid-AU looks about right. The split tail just indicates a decent strike and not a lot of wear, but probably not much of a premium over and above the actual grade. Hope it looks good when you get it in hand!

This is a problem coin. How much is the amount you are purchasing for, that would be driving factor. 1913 is a key date? If not, please pass.  |

Something looks odd with the craginess of the cheekbones. Maybe die clash remnants? I can see clash marks in EPU, and die flow around the bust, buffalo, and edges, yet the fields look very flat and clean.
