Possible Partial Collar On 1969 Penny

w1ll New Member United States 23 Posts	Posted 08/09/2024 4:50 pm Hello! I've found a penny that seems to be a partial collar, though I wanted confirmation as it also has some bad PMD. The coin has a diameter of 19.26 mm at its widest point. Note that the edge as pictured below is only that way for 3/4 of the coin, the rest appears normal. Thoughts? Marv65 Bedrock of the Community United States 10601 Posts	Posted 08/09/2024 5:40 pm That cupping on the edge is how coins are locked into certain bezels. The coin is put into the bezel then struck with a die that pushes the top and bottom edge of the coin out, locking it into the bezel, Not to be confused with a partial collar die strike that looks like this: Edited by Marv65 08/09/2024 5:41 pm Report this Post to the Staff
