I found this hunting rolls today and since I'm a newbie, I hope I can get some help.
First of all is this a proof?
Secondly, what would you grade it? I've tried to include closeups of any defects in it such as the glob on the date and the marks on the back. I uploaded photos with different lighting to hopefully help you see it better.
Thanks!

Proof coins are minted in San Francisco, not Denver. Proof coins also have a special finish and come in a proof set. You have a normal, but very nice looking Business Strike cent. https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin...c-dcam/93530

to The Community!

There were no 1999-D proof coins of any denomination struck at the Denver mint. Proof coins for proof sets were only struck at San Francisco that year.

Your coin appears to be a very nice business strike coin.

Pretty nice looking 1999 from a roll. I would say it would go MS64.

Mickifan77,
You need to filter your light, way too much glare.
In "that year" proofs have an S mint mark. Also, proof is not a condition, it is a method of manufacturing.

Agree with all above. Important distinction--'proof' is a manufacturing method, not a condition.

Nice Photos. Agree with above comments. No Denver Proof coins issued. This is a circulation coin issued and common.
