It's beyond me how someone would buy this unauthenticated coin; particularly so, given the look on the mintmark. However, there are multiple bids from folks seeking a "bargain." On the plus side, the seller offers a 30 day return, so bidders are more likely to take a shot at getting a bargain. Here are some pics of the coin .... Here's the listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/276687555789

Buying a coin like that without authentication is reckless. You keep poking a horse in the butt, and it's gonna kick ya.
What I find intriguing about such situations is that there seems to be no shortage of people with both a careless philosophy towards buying such coins and sufficient cash to make the purchase.

That "D" is so suspicious. That alone would keep me from even considering this coin.

Just the way it is so much brighter than the other reverse metal, and those weird rippling bends, makes it look like the metal was worked with a tool. All the examples of a 1916-D have the mint mark hammered in the cocked orientation. Additionally, the mint mark is almost as wide as it is tall, and gets fatter with circulation flattening. https://www.pcgs.com/cert/47926763I don't even think that's wide enough to be an S from that era. And even those were oriented near 45 degrees.
