I attempted to clean some PVC using rubbing alcohol (95% ethanol), and some reactions occurred, as you can see from these attachments. I'm trying to figure out if it's actually a 'white spot,' since I've never heard of ethanol reacting with silver. I know it's dumb  to clean any coin, but is there still a way to restore it? Thanks for any reply! It's my first post and I apologize if there is any violation of the rules.   |

100 per cent acetone soak .

Lighthouse makes specific coin 'bath' products.. you can google Lighthouse....I tried to load a picture.....but failed...

The coin is beyond restoration. Beneath some of those spots the PVC has pitted the surface. At this point the best you can do is an acetone bath. Any other procedure would be purely for experimental value, the cost of e z est cleaner on Amazon is more than the value of the coin. "Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

It's not a rare coin.....I've been selling PL65 Cameos for about $40 on fb....put this in your silver stack and buy a nicer one...
