I attempted to clean some PVC using rubbing alcohol (95% ethanol), and some reactions occurred, as you can see from these attachments. I'm trying to figure out if it's actually a 'white spot,' since I've never heard of ethanol reacting with silver. I know it's dumb to clean any coin, but is there still a way to restore it?
Thanks for any reply!
It's my first post and I apologize if there is any violation of the rules.

Hope that it helps, although I'm not optimistic. Please post "after" pics.

@Enceladus Be very careful with E-zest and be ready with a distilled water bath/rinse after. Good luck.

The coin is beyond restoration.
Beneath some of those spots the PVC has pitted the surface.
At this point the best you can do is an acetone bath.
Any other procedure would be purely for experimental value, the cost of e z est cleaner on Amazon is more than the value of the coin.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Thank you all for your advice. Take it easy, this is just for experimental purposes.

Experiments are fun and if the coin is beyond hope, it can at least serve this purpose.
