Short story, a coworker of mine, his wife's friend has a box of about 50 Morgan's. He sent me a pic asking what's it worth.
As you can see the coin is not in the greatest shape, so is there a way to clean this? I told him I don't know of a way, but I do know that cleaning is not a good idea.told him I'd post it here to learn more.

Thanks, Chris

The only recommended option for your friend would be to give it a bath in 100% pure acetone and then see what details show better for grading. It is a common date probable worth about $30 in this condition It does need to be checked for an overdate 7 over 6 which I can't assess from these pics.

50...that's a nice stash.
At today's Ag price $1200 or so...
The one in the pic seems to have quite a bit of environmental toning...are they all like that?
Some Morgan's are better dates and would be worth more than melt.
What does your co-worker's friend wife want to do with them...?
You were right with the cleaning is not a good idea!
Looking fwd to what others have to say...as well as a follow-up from you.

I believe smat was meaning to say the price of silver per ounce is that $32-33 per ounce, and gold is hovering around $2,900 per ounce.

And no to cleaning as mentioned above, except for a soak in pure acetone, as that should remove surface organic material.

That is kind of ugly toning but still don't be cleaning it. Just use an acetone soak like MisterT stated.

I agree. Only use pure acetone.
