its a 1999 P mint mark connecticut quarter weighs 5.8 has a silver edge that is raised also looks like its dd not sure any help would be appreciated thank you oh the coin is thicker then a regular quarter

Based on the weight of the coin = plated.

@gracianc2631 As coin rejector stated, probably a coated/plated coin.

The whole 50 State series was plated in silver or gold
aftermarket and sold as souvenirs.
The plating adds no numismatic value to the coin
