bobh New Member Switzerland 46 Posts	Posted 03/30/2025 7:12 pm Thanks! It looks like you are probably right, judging from the images I could find of this variety on the PCGS website. I took some pictures which captured some of the edge. Also, I am posting two details of the reverse -- not sure what other diagnostics this has. In case anyone is wondering how the edge was captured, I just put the coin in a silver soup ladel which reflects the edge rather nicely. Unfortunately, the coin is rather thin, so it didn't come out as well as my Russian ruble coins, for example. There is reeding between the words on the edge, in case it matters. I suppose these were struck in a collar with the edge lettering in the collar, AKA "milled" coins? As opposed to doing the edging in a separate process, such as using a Castaing machine? Zurie Pillar of the Community United States 5334 Posts	Posted 03/31/2025 12:19 am Nice photography! Better than the original pics, especially with your edge photos. Here's another thread from several year showing the use of a flashlight reflector to take images of the edge. I tried that a few years ago with suboptimal results. I don't recall seeing any reed markings on the edge of my lettered edge bust halves before. Not sure what that's from. They look pretty close together to be from a standard reeding process.
