So I know that starting in 2012 the mint cut way back on the amount of Presidential dollar coins minted, and I read most were just minted for collectors...
I go several rolls of coins from the bank and they are full of coins 2012 and later. So have we decided if these coins have any "extra value". They are wrapped (it appears) by a machine (not hand rolled and wrapped). A couple rolls only have Grover Cleveland in them and they look pristine. So, since they appear to have never been circulated, and were supposedly just made for collectors;... any added value?.
I was also curious about what is the "correct" way that the edge letters is supposed to be on the coins? Mine are split about half and half. Does upside down lettering add any value?
THANKS

I've opened up another $200 worth of Presidential dollars since posting above... All of them look to be non circulated. MOST fall into the first group of dollars covering the first 20 Presidents.
Even if they are in mint condition, I guess since so many were produced they'd have no added value..?
I am guessing "errors" is where any extra value would lie?

@gac, this old thread discussed the subject of edge letter orientation and may help you to understand what you've got there:

Thanks
Still don't know if any of the coins I have are worth anything more than face value.
Anyone?

They were sold to collectors in bags and rolls. I speculate someone bought them from the Mint, kept the best of the best for grading, and dumped the rest at the bank. A handful of high grade slabbed examples would cover the expense.

That being said, they are probably not worth much more than face and not worth getting graded unless a few gems slipped by the original owner.
