I added a rather tough coin to my collection today and wanted to share it. Actually I have one but the first took a pretty good cleaning. I knew this when I bought it and paid accordingly to "fill a hole".

Sorry for the quality of the pics but I took this with my microscope at 10x. My picture issues will hopefully be resolved soon.

For anyone that collects this series you will well know that an 1855 does not come up on a very regular basis.
139,000 minted and how many were lost or worn or damaged? A fragile piece. I see them rarely.
This one rolled into the shop last week and I had to divert from my current Barber quarter collecting to get it. The Barbers aren't going anywhere. I believe this one would have.

Excellent pick up! That is certainly the toughest pre-Civil War 3CS. My only trime, the one in my 7070, is a VF30 1855
