I vote myth! The obverse is very similar to the Indian cent Design introduced in 1859, the reverse is not similar to anything real.

Interesting... I have never seen anything like this... Unfortunately, this also makes me suspect it's authenticity... How big is it? Dollar sized? Cent sized?

modern fantasy piece, the design is a wholesale ripoff of the IHC obverse and $1 Liberty gold reverse edit: judging by the posted weight of ~21g, it is composed of white metal and not silver

Sellers like this prey on the un-informed and the coin will be gone from the store eventually. A few years ago there was an appearance of the "Goloid Dollar" on ebay ... same type story, got it from grandpa/grandma, can't verify anything, no returns. These are all red flags, yet someone bought it for near $500 hoping it was genuine. Of course it wasn't and since that time there have been hundreds listed (China origin on all of them). The Goloid dollar was an experimental piece considered and abandoned by the U.S. mint after a few copies were struck. It was to be a dollar coin with 10% gold content in order to make it smaller than the Morgan. ebay will always remain a haven for sleazy sellers. If you educate yourself on the products offered you can make some great deals. If you "trust" sellers to be completely honest, you will lose your shirt.

valdiman, That's another good example. Even with those marginal pictures, it's an obvious copy. The "spaghetti" date and non-uniform denticles are an immediate give-away. You're learning fast!
