Monnaie De Paris Production Facility Threatened By Wildfire

I'm not really sure where this topic belongs.

The French mint - Monnaie de Paris - is located in Paris. That facility primarily mints proof coins. They have their primary production facility for circulating coins in Pessac, a close-in suburb on the SW side of Bordeaux. BBC is reporting that the leading edge of the huge Gironde wildfire is on the outskirts of Cestas. That's only about 16 KM (10-ish miles) from the Pessac production facility.

Here in the States, we've had one at least one major experience with a mint in the middle of a fire, the San Francisco Mint in the aftermath of the 1906 earthquake and fire.

Here's wishing the very best for our friends in France, that this fire can be brought under control without further major damage or loss of life. Wildfires are monsters. I've seen my share in the mountain west and been under evacuation alerts more than once.
