Figuring that the 1943s and 1943d will be the most difficult to find, I picked these rather nice ones up today.

Those are nice spot and rust free. Be sure to put them in air tight holders and in a safe moisture free environment. These are susceptible to damage from poor storage. I put mine in Kointains and they are remaining nice and bright yet.

Where did you pick them up at? How much did you pay? They both look cleaned to me especially the S mint . Be aware that some steel cents are known to be post mint plated and are considered damaged to collectors.

I picked them up at a flea market in Perkiomenville Pa
I gave the guy 5.00 for the pair.
For the most part, I got them to put in my book....But if air tights would be better for these guy, I might just have to break down and get some.
My camera...
Cannon Rebel XTI with the efs 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 II 58mm lens it has macro 0.28m/0.9ft
The long and short of it...Basic camera, with a basic all purpose stock lens.
mounted on a tripod and using the flash that comes on the camera.
I use paint shop pro 8 to edit my pictures. The most "editing" that I do is cropping resizing (which is generally in half) and maybe the auto photo enhance button.
The enhancement puts the picture closer to what it actually looks like.

I zoomed up to like 800% to take a closer look at these. The images do well making them larger.
I see the obvious numerous lines going diagonally from 10 o'clock to 4 o'clock especially on the S coin.
I am not sure if these were cleaned, maybe it is metal flow? The lines only seem to really appear to go over the lettering in a few letters which might be just a coincidence. I would think that the lines would be even worse on the raised letters if it were cleaned. I think the S is maybe AU53-55 with that rim nick.
I think the D is AU55 as well.
I am no pro, but I feel these are maybe not cleaned, a might be possible unc but just making it, if they are.

If you live in a humid place or where it gets very hot and cold, I would use air tight containers, if it is mostly mild and dry all year round, these might be OK in a better quality album.
