postmasters signature. I have three of them in cr/unc condition. Does the post office stamp/the postage stamp and the signature do anything to the value of the note?
These were often made by people as Bicentennial souvenirs, and in some cases they were sold by private companies as such.
I think they are merely a curiousity, and are really not worth that much because of their private nature. If they had been released by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, they would have been more official and more collectable.
