An associate of my wife brought by about 200 coins she wanted priced, and I volunteered. That I can do.

However, there were also four banknotes.

Help!

I can't post pictures but even a ballpark estimate of their value would be so appreciated.

Somewhere I have a book on banknotes, but I can't find it.

Again, any help will be appreciated.

The notes:

One Dollar Note, Silver Certificate, Series of 1899, Many wrinkles but no tears.

Two Dollars Note, Silver Certificate, Series of 1899, Many wrinkles, No Tears.

Two Dollar Note - Same as above except small amount of right lower corner is missing

Two 10 Cent Fractional Currency. Wrinkled, torm, barely legible.

Is the dollar a black eagle or educational note. Also what pictures are on the two? Also what are the serial numbers as those can affect value as well.
Rest in Peace

Currency is not my strong suite but I do have a CDN Greensheet so I can give you those values. The Greensheet defines VG as will be fairly well soiled;may be significantly worn; might have roughness around the edges with only minute problems. F is defined as well-circulated with little crispness remaining; edges may be rough.

series 1899 $1, three types- date above, date below, and date right
date above VG $105 F $130
date below VG $80 F $105
date right VG $70 F $85

series 1899 $2, it is/was a common superstition to rip off a corner of a $2 to ward off bad luck, many nice deuces ruined that way Figure that it will knock 1/4-1/3 of the value
VG $190 F $210

10 cent Fractional Currency
you neglected to mention which issue- 1st(1862-63), 2nd(1863-67), 3rd(1864-69), 4th(1869-75), or 5th Issue(1874-76)
all five issues are relatively common for the 10 cent notes as all have VG values of $10-15.
