Very nice coin, I'd grade it at MS-62.

Hello Commander,
Nice uncirculated coin with a moderate number of shallow scrapes and luster breaks from contact with other coins. I think it is an easy MS-63 and could possibly make MS-64.

Is it in a GSA holder? If so, I'd leave it there. If you wanted to get it graded you could send it to NGC and they will grade it without taking it out of the GSA plastic, thus preserving its pedigree as a GSA coin.

Hi Jaobler,

The coin isn't in any holder, I bought it at a small coin fare near where I live. I paid £150.00 which is about $245.00. I bought it because it looked really nice and it's the 2nd Carson City, Morgan in my collection, I may have paid over the top, but these coins don't show up very often in the UK. I don't think that I'll be sending it out of the country to NGC.
If I find a grading company in the UK, I might send it to them?

Unfortunately you won't find a grading company in the UK whose reputation carries any weight in the U.S. I'd call your coin a nice MS63 with a fair shot at 64, making it a fair buy at the price. 1878-CC's in Mint State are quite popular in the market; this is a solid addition to any collection.
