I put an extra page in my Lincoln memorial Cents dansco today for the satin finish coins. It had me thinking about the new cents for 2010 and onward. I have heard no plans that Dansco will be issuing a new album and since these are not technically memorial cents should I continue placing them in my 8102 since it goes to 2013 anyway. Thoughts?

P.S. What is the correct term for the new cents? Shield Cents?

Good question. What is everyone going to call the new cents? Shield cents? Boring!

They'll get called what we call 'em. Funky cents sounds good, even if they are not actually funky. So from now on people, they are funky cents, funky cents, say funky cents 100 times, you'll love it.

Well.......it isn't a Wheat, it isn't a Memorial.....this will most certainly be considered a "new" issuance probably called "The new Cent with the Shield design".......or........I hate to say it......but......."Shield Cent" ! (I don't wanna say it 100 times !....)
It will/should be treated just like the change to Memorials. It will be a "continuance" of the Lincoln Cent, only with a new design.

Simply put......."Dansco's" are the "cadillac" of the industry. Well made....quality materials, etc. etc.

I actually like the term Shield Cents ( LSC to those that know!)

These, as well at the 2009 cents, are going in a different album. The LWC/LMC album is full, no room to add pages.

My LMC Dansco has 8 holes for the 2009's...didn't notice what the holes are labeled after that. I might have 2009's in the LMC album, and then have them again in a new album for 2009 forward.

My kids and I have been calling them shield cents from the time the design was announced. I expect that will be the norm, along with--as always--Lincoln pennies.

I would pay good money for a Dansco page that has 2008 P/D/S plus ALL 2009 designs annotated:

2009 (zinc)
Formative

2009 (copper)
Formative

2009 D (zinc)
Formative

2009 D (copper)
Formative

2009 S
Formative

Obviously the last one being proof only. Are the product developers Dansco dense? If they made an extra page like that it would fly off the shelf! How many people own a Dansco 8100 and how many of them do you think would buy one?

Sure, some people might not want proof only S mint, some might not want the 95% copper. But it's not like it would be costly to run different combinations. This is a no brainer.

I know I would buy one. I have 8 pages in my 8102. 2 extra pages, one for early proofs and one for satins. I like the look of it but without the labels for each hole it seems lacking.

Don't you mean "That would make the most cents"? Sorry, could resist.
