I purchased this 1924-S only becuase I thought it might be a VAM. Please note there is what appears to be a die gouge extending from the eagles right shoulder.

I went to vamworld and they have photos of a vam1b Double Clash Spikes Eagle's Shoulder. However the photo they have does not look like mine as I only see one such spike extending from the eagles right shoulder.

Any ideas as to whether this is a VAM and what is protruding from the eagles right shoulder?

For clashes, generally to qualify they need to be:

1) Protruding up into the lettering or;
2) have two or three clashes.

Hope that helps.
