I am putting a list together for a coin show this week.

I have been thinking of buying a coin scale.

Does anyone have some pro's and con's for a good scale?

Any certain brand or features to look for?

0.2 oz is hardly precise, especially not for something as light as a coin.

You'll want portability and 0.01g resolution. This is what I use:

I've independently verified it's accuracy and resolution, and it does what they say it will. Couldn't recommend it more highly as a coin scale. When weighing coins, I tare in a piece of lens-cleaning paper. The coin sits on that, rather than on the actual metal of the scale.

I recently bought this at Valley Coin. Seems to work well although I haven't used it a lot.

Thanks for the good response. I will study these, and see if they have them at my local coins show this weekend.

Wonder how that would work for my tomatos in my garden?
So far I've purchased several different scales and regardless of cost, their results vary to much after a while. For some reason they are all great at first then start to waver in their results. One came from a scientific supply house, one from a jewlery place, a few from other sources. Then I said to myself, SELF, why bother weighing coins? So I don't anymore.
