the seller is shady for sure but the buyer should know what they are getting into when they bid. The buyer was thinking I won 40 morgans for 50 bucks. either way the seller needs to be on the watch list

I don't see a bit of deception there. You wouldn't run through the grocery store, stuffing things into your cart without even looking at them. You don't buy clothes without trying them on. Why, then, would you do it on ebay? In my opinion, a buyer who was deceived by that auction needs to learn a lesson about when and where to open their wallet. There's a limit to how much we *should* sanitize the reality around us, for fear of creating a race of sheep. There will always be predators.

He did spell one wrong so it could get a bit messy. I'm site the bidders just looked at the picture rather than reading the print.

Yeah, I had some buyer do that with a saint gaudens I sold two years ago...I had not known that you weren't allowed to charge them the paypal fee, but I had stated it in the auction. Anyway the guy buys it and pays without reading the description, then acts self righteous and refuses when I tell him he needs to pay the $30 fee, going off about ' ebay guidelines'. I cancel the transaction and he tries to con me into selling him the coin saying "You probably wont get any more for it". Well, I waited about a year, and got $500 more for that coin : )

I recently had a buyer who paid a very small in-state sales tax to ask for my tax number (which I gave him) and found out the gets many sellers to remit the sales tax back to him on in-state purchases, which indicates to me many sellers are charging sales tax to add to the profit line without ever sending it in to the state.

I don't see overt deception in that listing. The mispelled "one" is the sticking point. His headline says "Dollar" not dollars. I am glad I'm not the poor buyer who payed $50+ for one "G+" Morgan though. You see these types of auctions on ebay (bulk in photo - you get one.) That's why you have to read the description as well and clarify with the seller before bidding if necessary. It isn't like one of those cigar box from Grandpa's attic auctions or the 'ol piggy bank filled with common wheat pennies and a few silver culls auctions. Let the buyer beware. I don't bid on those: I'll send you one coin of my choice auctions. You are just begging to be ripped off if you do.
