http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...320566580929Up for auction is an extremely rare Indian cent and wheat back penny mule, straight from someone's garage. Currently bid up to $30 with 5 whole days left. Currently a steal! - because the seller is gonna walk with over a hundred dollars for a mutilated piece of metal worth one cent (if you could even use it in pocket change).

at least he clearly says in his auction that he is not sure if it is authentic or what it actually is. Looks like some bidders are willing to buy it to find out...

yeah I saw that his other auctions are all legit, and his feedback is great, so I truly think he is as clueless as the people bidding on it. It still irks me though.

His Feedback goes back a long way with coins. He knows exactly what he's doing.
I'm gonna move this to a more appropriate forum, by the way.

C'mon, the guy is offering free postage. That means you are getting a free buck or so, definitely makes the $30 bid easier to swallow.

so the consensus is that although he knows how it got that way or did it himself, since he is disclosing that he doesn't know if it is real or not, this is OK. It seems that he does know and that part of his statement is a lie. Would that not be a reportable issue for ebay. given his feedback, he is no stranger to coins, could he actually be 'uncertain' of the origin of this coin. Since I don't collect much US, I assume there are very reliable sources that say this type of error has never been seen or officially documented as being legit

So ... none of you ebay regulars have taken it upon yourselves to "educate" him? I'm surprised.
