I think I'm going to use that "tool" on my scanner! lol
I didn't get what I was thinking about but, this one will do just fine for now. Yes? Don't all go eeehhhhhhh! It's a Nikon, Coolpix L3, 5.1, 3X Optical Zoom and does all sorts of other things that I am far from knowing how to use. Oh, it has a 2 inch LCD. I gotta have a WYSIWYG! Just a "visual" kinda gal!
If I can just get the glare off of the coins I'd post pics. These things take time...I'm still in 35MM mode.
Patience, patience my good friends. Soon! (I hope)! ;-)

always turn the flash off on the camera, that may be where the glare is coming in

Thanks Bryan. I discovered the flash thing wasn't working, especially on BU's and Proofs. I think that my problem is lighting. There wasn't too much natural light in the room at the time. I'll spend more time on the photographic hints forum and see what I learn. This little camera does a lot of neat tricks so I hope it'll be just fine. Thanks again!

good luck, Don't get discrouged. I had alot of truble in the begining as well. One think is make sure do not have the camera to close you can alway zoom in when you edit oyur picture it will bring out detail and may be raid of some of the glare. Also make sure you are using extra at least one extra light to light up the coin don't try to shot lust using natrual lighting. Here is a good atricle that help me out it was posted a few week ago. http://browncopper.com/photography.htmlHave fun, and what a great gift, taking picture of your coins just add to the enjoyment of collecting.

It's very close I think. My little Coolpix has 5.1 megapixels and the 3X optical zoom. This dig does all sorts of tricks that I haven't even begun to figure out. I'll get ahold of you when I have problems. Notice I said "when" as I'm sure I'll need help if yesterday was any example. I took lots of pics of the carpet...I had the delay on or something and didn't wait for the flash. I'm learning slooooowwwwwly! This is fun! Can't wait to start uploading!

I found the best way to do it is on a white paper. even if you are taking pictures on the floor.make sure to use a tripod.also make sure you use your macro.

OK...I'll try Grey (since you have the same camera). If that doesn't work I'll try white and if that doesn't work I'll cry! ;-( I'm going to figure this out!
