just looking at my s marked pennies

The 68-s has a oval looking 0 in the word " god "
the 74-s has a oval looking 0 in the word " god"

but the 73-s has a very round circular looking " O "in the word god

i dont have a 69-70-71-72 's marks to look at to see if the 73 is the odd ball

I know they changed the portrat in 69 to the early 70's by any chance
is this 73 round O a varity ?

I am pretty sure that Lincoln had an extreme makeover between 68 & 69. The lettering would/could have been changed as well.

ok so from 69-73 the lettering was changed to a rounder thinner O
then in 74+ the mint went back to using a more oval style O

Obverse designs of the Lincoln Cent were changed no less than five times from 1968 to 1974. The only way to find out if they are a "variety" would be to compare coins from the same year for differences.
