St John the Baptist, patron saint of the city, is on the obverse. Wikipedia article. Whether the coin is still worth much, as a coin, depends on whether the jeweller that encased it damaged it while doing so. Despite being so old, these coins often aren't worth too much more than their bullion value because they swere struck with more or less exactly the same design for over 200 years.
