received my newest Morgan, a 1879-O, yesterday from Millers Mint. What grade would you all give it. The little red line on her cheek is not on the coin. Thanks,

I bought it listed as a AU-58.

It may be an AU coin. From the pictures it doesn't have many marks. Maybe its a slider.
Does the coin have any luster?

It has great luster, but there are some marks on the face but no scratches. There is also a crack running from the "P" in Pluribus through the "L" and "I" in Liberty. Now that you mentioned it the lady I talked to on the phone when I ordered it mentioned the word slider but I wasn't sure what she was talking about.

Slider: A term used to describe an AU coin that looks, or can be sold as, Uncirculated. Occasionally used as a reference to another grade; a slider EF coin, for example, would be a VF/EF coin that is nearly EF. Source: http://www.coincommunity.com/dictionary/ (The Glossary on this site)

Note the crack you see is probably a die break. That is something common on Morgan dollars that occurs due to die wear at the mint it does not usually have any effect on the grade and may, in fact, make the coin more valuable if it is a rare die variety. With some high resolution photos, the guys in the VAM area can help you attribute the die variety and estimate its rarity.

What would be a good price to get an 1879-o in au-ms condition? I'm looking at some on e-bay. I have last years price book. Thanks
